Spiritual Safety Equipment

Posted by Dan Bolin on OA10er @ 10:10
“If the Lord be with us, we have no cause of fear. His eye is upon us, His arm over us, His ear open to our prayer – His grace sufficient, His promise unchangeable.”

John Newton
A half mile from our home, my wife and I came across a young man whose demolished car had run off the road and was crunched against a tree. Several airbags had deployed, surrounding him with protection; he was dazed but not seriously injured. The airbags probably saved his life.

Safety equipment is designed to limit the destructive effects of our bad judgment, our poor reactions to dangerous situations, or the mischief of irresponsible people.

After describing the benefits of confessing our sins, David reminds us of God’s amazing protection. He says, “You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.” (Psalm 32:7)

Life is filled with dangerous and potentially destructive circumstances. But through hazardous and threatening situations, God surrounds us with His loving protection.
God Himself provides our security in the face of life’s trials and trauma. And until God calls us home, we can be assured that He will protect us from trouble and that his songs of deliverance will be with us every step of the way.

International Director - CCI Worldwide

CCCA (USA) is searching for a director of Operations and Member Services to fill the position formerly held by Greg Anderson, and before him by Scott King. They would appreciate your prayers for wisdom in the search, interview and selection process.

CCI-UK wants to give thanks for a season of good regional meetings around the UK in recent weeks, with good fellowship, informative meetings and generally good attendance. Also, that both Linda and Carolyn are back in the CCI office on phased returns after long periods out. Please pray they would settle back in without further difficulty.

May 15-18, CCI-Ukraine is leading a workshop in Truskavets, Western Ukraine. They will help a ministry that operates several camp programs to train their staff and volunteers for the summer. This is the 16th training event CCI-Ukraine is running this spring in Ukraine alone, and there are three more scheduled for the month of June. A four-day training event sponsored by CCI-Ukraine is starting this week in a former Soviet Union country. Thank God for CCI-Ukraine office staff who work hard, as well as for CCI-Ukraine instructors who are graciously donating their time to make all these training events possible.

From CC-South Africa: South Africans from all cultures and all walks of life went at once on their knees on April 22. More than a million people prayed together at Bloemfontein and thousands more at their own churches for our country, for a Godly intervention against murder, rape, corruption, poverty, drought, HIV/Aids and much more. We trust God with our leadership and ask our camping community to intercede for our country.

Please pray for the joint convention taking place May 15-19 for CCI-Latin America and CCI-Brazil. Pray for the month-out preparations going on now, for the speakers and sessions to be encouraging and instructive, for safety in travel and for participants to be better equipped to serve the Lord and others in their ministries.

CC-New Zealand requests prayer for several upcoming events. May 23-25 is their New Managers Boost in Auckland. CCNZ has eight new managers and want to connect with them to support and encourage them. During that event there will be a CCNZ Executive Board meeting so the board members can meet these new managers. Please also pray for these three back-to-back events  this summer: Managers Boost – July 30-31; Rewire, a CCNZ Conference August 3-31; Marriage Retreat –August 3-6.

CCI-Mexico asks for prayer for their north sectional conference June 2-4 in Chihuahua. This is the second year they are doing sectional conferences, and is the first one in the north of the country. They are also working in the transition from an operative board to a policy board, which includes the hiring of a new executive director and lots of work just understanding what this means. They trust God is guiding them this way, but ask for prayer for His direction in every step they take. They have also recently hired their first executive director: Shawn Inchaustegui. Please pray for him, his new role and that God would continue to guide this ministry and their new structure.
